General Samora hopes government will keep NDF robust force

General Samora Yenus, who retired as the Chief of Staff of Ethiopian National Defense Force (NDF) said that he will hope the people and  government will continue making the defense they feel proud of, robust force.

There was official ceremony at National Palace yesterday, where PM Abiy Ahmed (PhD) appointed General Seare Mekonnen as new Chief of Staff of NDF and recognized the contribution of departing General Samora.

On the occasion, GeneraL Samora said that during his tenure he was able to build capacity of the NDF, recruit many leaders and carryout successful military missions.

He said the NDF, which has been built on the poor economy is respected by countries of big economic power.

“The force is chosen for peacekeeping missions,” he said adding that it is ready for scarification the country demand.

However, he said that the force could also committee a mistake, and in this case, it should be accountable as anybody is not above the law.

The force also distant itself from elements, which want to see, divided and weak military force, he added.
