PM pledges to “fundamentally” amend justice system

Prime Minster Abiy Ahmed (PhD) said that country’s justice system, which has been marred by many miscarriages should be “fundamentally" amended.

The PM made this remark today while addressing the parliament on what he has done since assuming office. The recent privatization move of the government, diplomacy, media environment and debt burden topped the PM address and Member of Parliament’s questions.

“There are laws that lacked transparency and partiality that manipulated in favor of some individuals and organizations,” said the PM.

According to him, the government has set up a Justice, Law system Amendment committee entrusted with conducting a thorough research that will help to make fundamental amendments.

The amendment in the justice system, according the PM, will significantly help avoid good governance problems in the service sectors.

PM Abiy (PhD) also firm to address the essence of the privatization of government organizations in which the time the country saw the highest debt burden in the Africa with over 24 billion USD.

There is “a good start” in making media of the government, private and cyber to be become the voice of the People, according to the PM.

The PM said diplomacy he has made with neighboring countries with some of them considered as enemy is satisfactory with many countries set Ethiopian prisoners free.

He also said that the government has made a tremendous job in unplugging the country the political crisis, which resulted in the state of emergency.

Though efforts bear fruit in maintaining peace, stability and national unity among the people, the PM said there are still groups, who are bent on disturbing the people.
