Ethiopian, Eritrean leaders receive UAE’s greatest award in Abu Dhabi

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed(PhD) and Eritrean President Isaias Afeworki received the United Arab Emirates (UAE) greatest civil honor over their contribution of peace deal between their respective countries after a deadlock of more than two decades.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) left for UAE today.

The two leaders received the honor from UAE’s king Mohammed Bin Zaid Al-Nehmia.

The award ceremony was attended by ministers, ambassadors who resides in Abu Dhabi and senior government officials.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed had recently set foot in Eritrea, which was considered as ever the greatest impression after two decades.

Eritrean President Isais Afeworki has also paid three days-long visit to Ethiopia.

The two leaders signed a cooperation agreement, which is meant to change the life of people in the two nations for the better.

The agreements include the opening of embassies in each other’s countries, in which Eritrea took the move first by naming Eritrean Ambassador to Ethiopia.
