ODP works with 15 opposition parties active in Oromia region

The Oromo Democratic Party (ODP) announced that it is working with 15 different opposition poltical parties, which are active in the Oromia region of Ethiopia.

ODP Spokespreson, Taye Dendea told a press conference today that OPD has five key issues that maginate the 15 parties for cooperation.

The five pillar issues that parties agreed to work on are, according Taye, rule of law, widening of democratic space, capacity building of institutions, solving economic problems and improving social problems.

He added that ODP, which already declared its merger with Oromo Democratic Front, is also working to merge with parties that have similar agenda.

Shine, one faction of the Oromo Liberation Front, is the only group that the ODP have failed to find common ground to work with, according to Taye.
