Chief of Staff of the National Defense Force, General Seare Mekonnen and Major General Geza’e Abera are laid to rest in the city of Mekelle Yesterday.
A farewell ceremony was held at the Millennium Hall in the capital Addis Ababa in the presence of senior government officials and the diplomatic community.
Their bodies are flown to Mekelle shortly.
General Seare was shot dead by his guard last Saturday at his home in the capital Addis Ababa.
Major General Geza’e Abera was also killed during the attack.
Meanwhile, the Tigray regional state declared a three-day of mourning beginning from June 25, 2019.
Their funeral was attended by thousands of people, higher regional and federal officials.
