Commission finalizes preparation for Easter peace, security

The Addis Ababa Police Commission announced that it has finalized preparation to deter any security threats that may be posed on Christians while celebrating the Easter holiday.

Commission Public Relation Head, Commander Fasikaw Fentaw, told WMC that police have been collaboratively working with concerned bodies for days running to Easter Sunday to ensure peaceful celebration.

According to him, the police have made efficient control on recreation centers, transport areas which saw a large gathering of people.

The traffic police will be standby to intercept drunk-driving incidents during the day, he said, adding that there could be a strict control by a motorcade to ensure safe flow of traffic.

He also called up on the people to inform the police when they look suspicious matters by calling on 991 free of charge. He finally offered good wishes to all Christians who celebrate Easter.
