The Ethiopian Social and Labor Affairs Ministry said that it has introduced a system that benefits peoples with disabilities.
Ministry’s renaissance service team leader, Merid Mengesha told WMC that the ministry has a mandate to work for peoples with disabilities and organized 25 ministerial offices on the rights of disabilities.
He said that each ministry shall work towards the ensuring the rights of disabilities in health, education and other sectors.
He said that the ministry of education planned to help disabled students of elementary school for five years.
The ministry of education is crafted a policy to favor disabilities, he said.
Last year, the country approved social security policy meant to include people with disabilities.
There are millions of disabled people in the country with their access to education, transport and social service one of the lowest.
