Council urges public to transfer peaceful, prosperous Ethiopia to generations

The Ethiopia Islamic Affairs Supreme Council has called up on the public to play its pivotal role in transferring peaceful and prosperous Ethiopia to generations.

Representative of President of the Ethiopia Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, Hajji Kedir Hussien, during the 1,438th Ed-al-Adha holiday celebration said that the Muslim community should preserve the peaceful-coexistence among followers of different religions and maximize endeavors in building peace and development at large.

Hajji Kedir has also stressed on the need to help elderly people while celebrating the holiday.

Representative of the Addis Ababa City Administration Mayor, Ephrem Gizaw, on his part said that Muslims should strengthen combating religious fanaticism and extremism as they are hindrances of peace and development.

Ethiopian Muslims across the country have colorfully celebrated the 1,438th Ed-al-Adha holiday today. Similarly, here in the capital, at Addis Ababa Stadium the holiday celebrated in the presence of Islamic faithful, leaders as well as invited guests.
