The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Pastoralist Area Development disclosed that it has planned to resettle 48, 039 pastoralist households during this budget year .
Public Relations and Communication Director with the Ministry, Abebe Worku, told WMC that the ministry is undertaking preparations to improve the livelihoods of 48, 039 pastoralist households in its resettlement program.
According to Abebe, the ministry has targeted to make households beneficiaries of social and economic services in the pastoralist areas of Somali , Afar , Oromiya , SNNP, Gambella and Benishangul regional states.
The ministry is to settle 15,000 in Somali , 15,000 in Afar, 4,000 in Oromiya , 9, 410 in SNNP, 3, 886 in Gambella , and 743 in Benishangul regional states, he underscored.
Abebe noted that the ministry has designed to construct about 441 basic social, economic service institutions and is expected to begin service during the current budget year.
According to Abebe, the ministry is exerting consolidated efforts to create common understanding with federal , regional , zonal , wereda and kebele administrations and pastoralists in order to successfully achieve the resettlement program.
The ministry of federal affairs and pastoralist area development is set to achieve the goal to make a total of 365, 909 pastoralist households beneficiaries of different social and economic services within the pastoralist regions, Walta learnt.
