Islamic Affairs Supreme Council President urges Muslims to guard Peace, support the needy

Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, President Sheik Muhammad-Amin Jamal has called on all Muslims to sustain peace and stability as well as extend support to the needy.

 Eid al-Fitr, the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, is being celebrated across the country today.

Speaking at the ceremony held this morning at the Addis Ababa Stadium, Sheikh Muhammad-Amin Jamal said the Muslim community is happy to celebrate the Ramadan at this moment when peace and stability reign across the country.

The President called on the faithful to help sustain peace and stability and continue supporting the needy as they did during the fasting month of Ramadan.

He also noted that Muslims in the country should also strengthen their contributions to the development endeavors in the city as well as in the country.

Mayor Diriba Kuma said on his part the Muslim community has been contributing a lot to the country’s social and economic development.

The prayer and benediction ceremony conducted in Addis Ababa has reportedly concluded in a peaceful and orderly manner.
