The Addis Ababa University today hosted the 13th Nations, Nationalities and people’s Day symposium.
The symposium was attended by higher government official including Keria Ibrahim, Speaker of the House of Federation and Muferiat kamil, and Minister of the Ministry of Peace.
Speaker keria said that diversity will be a source of strength and democracy, if it is handled in proper manner. “Diversity could not be a source of conflict.”
She also said the government will work to sustain the peaceful coexistence among the country’s diverse people that lasted for centuries.
The country, which is now at conflict is also has a stride of change, she said adding that ensuring the rule of law is a responsibility expected from the people.
Diversity for national Unity was theme this year celebration.
