Foreign tourists flow into Ethiopia increases: Minister

Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ethiopia, Hirut Kassaw (PhD) said that the number of foreign tourists, who have flown into the country, saw an annual increment.

The Minister made this remark today in Mekele, capital of Ethiopia’s Tigray region during the third Annual Research Forum that was themed as “traditional values for national unity and perpetual tourism development.”  

However, the Minister did not figure out by how many the number of tourist inflow saw progress.

She said that understanding of culture is vital as the very existence of the individuals or communities will be inflicted.

Though Ethiopia is endowed with tremendous resources, she said it has not make use of it in required level in that her ministry will work towards properly exploiting resources.

Mekelle University President, Prof. Kindeya Gebrehiwot on his part said that Ethiopian has not yet get what could be gained from the sector.
