The Ministry of Education introduced a new education configuration in which elementary, junior and secondary schooling takes 6, 2, and 4 respectively.
In a press conference he gave today, the Minister of the Ministry Education, Tilaye Gete (PhD) said that the previous education policy is made to fond foreign, and has found to have gap in proving indigenous knowledge.
In cognizant of these gaps, according to the Minister, the new indigenous knowledge based education system will sustain the unity of the country, and will be given in a manner that is palatable to the community and students.
Upon completion of the 6th grade, students will take region exam, while the regional exam which was previously given at grade 8 will be national exam.
It was also announced that the government will step in Kindergarten schooling, which was solely taken by private sector.
