Regulation meant to handle industry parks’ residue discharge disclosed

Ethiopia disclosed a new regulation that is meant to properly handle discharge of residue from its industrial parks.

The regulation was studied for last three years.

According to the Environment, Forestry and Climate Change Commission Commissioner, Fekadu Beyene (Prof.) the regulation will help the country properly implement policies it developed in the sector so far.

Tasks that will be made in the sector have owner, and accountability is also clearly put, the commissioner said.

The Industry Parks Corporation on its part said that industries, which were previously built or under construction have increased the amount of residue released so that the regulation will be essential to manage the matter.

CEO of the Corporation, Lelise Neme said that the regulation will be implemented in all industrial parks beginning with Bole Lemii Industrial Park found the outskirt of Addis Ababa.
