Salva Kiir arrives in Eritrea for state visit

South Sudanese president General Salva Kiir Mayardit arrives in Asmara for an official visit to Eritrea the after an invitation of President Isaias Afwerki.

South Sudanese President accompanied by Foreign Minister Nyala B. Nyala and Minister of President’s Office, Mike A. Beng.

According to the Eritrean Information Minister Yemane G. Meskel President Isaias Afwerki and President Salva Kiir Mayardit will discuss the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in various sectors and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest in a Summit that is already in the offing.

Salva Kiir will be the Third East African leader to pay a visit to Eritrea since Asmara and Addis Ababa agreed to bury the hatchet and restored their diplomatic ties.

On July 8, Ethiopia Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed visited in the Eritrean capital Asmara, His trip to Asmara is aimed at normalizing relations between the two countries and depending on the people-to-people ties between the two nations.

On July 28, The President of Somalia Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed(Farmajo) arrives in Asmara for a three-day official visit to a tumultuous welcome by the Government and people of Eritrea. (http://www.horndiplomat.com)
