Addis Ababa, June 19, 2023 (Walta) – It is common to see western countries that used to make political gains from humanitarian aid accusing Ethiopia at different times with various unsubstantiated accusations.
It is our recent memory that during the war that happened in the northern part of the country, Ethiopia had repeatedly sounded the alarm bell that humanitarian aid was being looted and used for inappropriate activities.
At the time, the Ethiopian government repeatedly announced the illegal activity, but no action was taken by the donors. Perhaps their plan was to carry out this act.
Following the seriousness of the issue, while the government took a step to settle the illegal activities, repeated accusations filled the air that the Ethiopian government was blocking humanitarian aid into the country. The Westerners` media had disseminated the false issue of blocking humanitarian aid that was aimed at creating an unwarranted pressure on Ethiopia. They propagated the false accusation through their media. They also flooded various social networking sites with posts.
Their action was aimed at confusing the international community and causing it to hold false beliefs.
Recently, westerns and their media are in such trends with accusations against Ethiopia of humanitarian aid theft. As usual, the same players in the same group, such as the Western media, individuals with evil intentions, such proxy institutions and political organizations are amplifying the issue.
Without investigating, verifying the situation and receiving the right information from the right party, they continue to accuse and defame Ethiopia in a way that deviates from the principles of journalism and media.
In-depth researches stated that the western countries has political influence on humanitarian aid that polluted the entire work. International organizations and countries that claim to provide humanitarian aid are self-interested who pour billions of dollars in the name of people in need, the researches pointed out.
When a problem happened, they took pictures of the victims of the problem and make it available to the international community through their evil-intentioned media.
But the total collected amount of money does not reach to the victims, it is revealed in the research that the needy people will receive only a few amount.
Surveys show that this money remains in western private corporations. But these extremist media don’t want to report this disgusting act of the West.
