African Leaders Attend Inauguration Ceremony, Congratulate PM Abiy

Addis Ababa, October 4, 2021 (Walta) – President of the South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mardayat, while congratulating Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed over the swearing in Ceremony, said Africans would have not been what they are now without Ethiopia.

He lauded the support of governments and people of Ethiopia for independence of Africa.

He recounted support of Ethiopian leaders including Emperor Haileselassie, President Mengistu Hailemariam and Prime Minister Meles Zenawi for the independence of South Sudan.

He also appreciated the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed led current government of Ethiopia for sustaining the country’s support for his country. He reiterated the support of his country Sudan for Ethiopia without any condition in all aspects.

He expressed confidence that Ethiopia will resolve all the circumstances its is facing now with peaceful mechanisms.

Similarly, Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has congratulated Prime Minister for being elected as Prime Minister of Ethiopia for a second term.

He also congratulated Ethiopians at large over the inauguration of the new government. Saying that Politics of identity caused some problems, he called on Africans to cement unity.

President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh, on his part addressing the inauguration of the new Ethiopian government, appreciated Ethiopia’s Demoratic process recounting country’s age old initiation for Pan-Africanism.

Congratulating Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the president said “I stand before you today to bring you a message of hope and encouragement on my behalf and behalf of my Djiboutian people”

Ethiopian empire took the lead as Pan-African nation as the first member of League of Nations and founding member of the Organization of African Unity, he said.

He expressed strong optimism that Ethiopia will overcome all its challenges without intervention of external forces and continue its path of fastest growth.

Ethiopia can drwaw inspriation from its yesterday’s achivements to transfrom its development and growth to higher position. He also congratulated for the new year Irrecha festival wishing a better future. He further vowed full support of Djibouti and its people for Ethiopia.
