Ambassador Redwan Confers with FAO Director General Qu Dongyu

June 17, 2014 (Walta) – Ethiopian Prime Minister’s National Security Adviser, Ambassador Redwan Hussein, held talks with UN Food and Agriculture Organization Director General Qu Dongyu.

Ambassador Redwan briefed the Director General about Ethiopia’s government development endeavor in the area of summer wheat irrigation, green legacy, industrial development and other development projects.

The ambassador extended his gratitude to the support the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has provided to Ethiopia in various fields of development and called for its continued support.

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Director-General Qu Dongyu, on his part, said his organization supports the Ethiopian government’s efforts to transform its agricultural productivity and .

According to information obtained from the Ethiopian Embassy in Italy, the organization has agreed to work with Ethiopia to increase productivity, build green cities and make a real difference in mitigating the impact of climate change.

During his stay in Italy, Ambassador Redwal Hussein met with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Mayo and World Food Program Director David Beasley.
