Brazilian Investors, Ethiopian IPDC Reach Investment Agreement

IPDC CEO, Aklilu Tadesse, had a discussion with Jandyr Ferreira Dos Santos, the Ambassador of Brazil to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, August 17, 2023 (Addis Walta) An investment agreement was reached between Brazilian investors  and Industrial Park Development Corporation (IPDC) which enable them to invest in industrial parks and to allow manufacturers to access additional markets in Brazil.

 

The agreement will help Brazilian manufacturers to engage in industrial parks, especially in the manufacturing and agro-processing sectors, and for producers in industrial parks to have more market access in Brazil.

 

 

IPDC CEO, Aklilu Tadesse, had a discussion with Jandyr Ferreira Dos Santos, the Ambassador of Brazil to Ethiopia that the two exchanged ideas on the details of how to strengthen the long-standing relationship of Ethiopia and Brazil in investment, trade and related issues.

 

The agreement allows Brazilian investors to produce in the industrial parks and sell their products in the Brazilian market as well as create market linkages.

 

The ambassador said that industrial park initiative by Ethiopian government is encouraging and that the two countries will work in the agro-processing sector to share experiences Brazil has with Ethiopia.

 

Business forum involving various stakeholders will be jointly prepared, according to IPDC.

 

It is noted that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Ph.D.) and Brazilian Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira and discussed to strengthen bilateral relations and multilateral issues.
