The Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy announced that total construction of Grand Ethiopia Renaissance Dam (GERD) has reached 78.3 percent.
The Minister of Water, Energy and Irrigation, Engineer Silesh Bekele (Dr.) said that the total construction of the dam has reached 78.3 percent, and the project civil works reached 91 percent.
He also announced the second round of water filling of the GERD will be started during the coming rainy seasons of the country.
Dr. Silesh noted that the dam has a tremendous advantage to the Nile basin countries.
