Council Urges Action against Peace Disrupters, Economic Saboteurs

 

Addis Ababa, April 23, 2022 (Walta) – The National Security Council of Ethiopia has decided to take necessary measures against groups and individuals who disrupt the peace of the nation and engage in economic sabotage.

Following its meeting yesterday, the National Security Council has released a statement briefing the current national security issues of Ethiopia.

The council made it clear that the law enforcement agencies of the country will take all necessary measures to ensure the peace and tranquility of the country following the due process of law.

“There are forces that serve the interests of Ethiopia’s arc enemies and that of their personal gains,” said the council in a statement it issued yesterday.

The Council ordered law enforcement agencies to take measures against groups and individuals armed illegally since the existence of such actors destabilize the nation and  provide fertile ground for historical enemies of the country. It also urged law enforcement agencies to take actions against groups and individuals engaged in the dissemination disinformation and misinformation.

Legal action will be also be taken against groups or individual involved in land grabbing, acts of theft and fraud, disruption of transport and public services, the development and investment activities of the country and illegal traders smuggling fuel  and other products out of the country.
