Diasporas to Hold Worldwide Protest Against U.S. Intervention

Addis Ababa, November 19, 2021 (Walta) – Ethiopians and foreign nationals of Ethiopian origin as well as friends of Ethiopia residing in various parts of the globe will hold public rallies in 20 cities in the coming Sunday to denounce external interventions and Western media’s smear campaigns, coordinators announced.

The coordinators told local media that the worldwide demonstrations will be set to oppose some interest groups’ unwarranted attempts to meddle in Ethiopia’s internal affairs and the corporate media’s deliberate and systematic information warfare.

Ayehu Berhan, one of the coordinators said: “We have hosted rallies to rescue the country from being dismantled. We take no side of the parties to the conflict in Ethiopia; instead, we are striving for the existence of the country.”

Noting the terrorist TPLF committed untold atrocities on civilian communities  in Amhara and Afar states, she indicated that they ‘have no other agendas than ending these atrocities.’

Ethiopians in the Diaspora have been actively taking part in different rallies to denounce the intensified attempts to interfere in the domestic matters of their country of origin and the demonstrations are bearing fruits, Ayehu claimed.

Another coordinator Elias Herui from Virginia said that the West deploys fake news to impose their will on the legitimate Ethiopian government and as an instrument of arm twisting. Apart from Ethiopia, the gatherings would play a great role in defending the sovereignty of all poor states.
