Addis Ababa, December 12, 2023 (Addis Walta) Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen conferred with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mirjana Spoljaric Egger.
The two discussed on strengthening cooperation between Ethiopia and the ICRC.
In the discussion held in Geneva, Switzerland, Demeke pointed out that the humanitarian aid by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ethiopia is very crucial and requested to strengthen the support.
Demeke also briefed the president about Ethiopia’s ongoing effort in strengthening peace and rebuilding endeavor by the country, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
The ICRC president on her behalf stated that ICRC will continue to strengthen its humanitarian support in Ethiopia.
