Addis Ababa, November 29, 2021(Walta) – Ethiopia will continue to maintain friendly relations; despite ongoing provocation from the Sudan side threatens the long-standing friendship between Ethiopia and Sudan, the government said.
The government added that Ethiopia attaches great importance to its neighborliness with Sudan and has shown this practically.
The need for Ethiopia to resolve the dispute between the two countries in a peaceful manner is also stressed.
State Minister of Government Communications Service, Selamwit Kassa during her press briefing today said that the government has taken action against the intrusive of Sudanese forces who were seeking to harm Ethiopia and its citizens.
Selamawit also said Ethiopia and Sudan have historical ties; adding that Ethiopia has always supported their friendship and neighborliness during times of crisis.
Some foreign media outlets were misinformed, and reports that the government had attacked the Sudanese Defense Forces were all far from the fact, she noted.
