Ethiopia and Algeria Agree to Enhance Industrial Cooperation

In a discussion between Ambassador Nebiat Getachew, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Algeria, and Ferhat Ait Ali Brahmi, Minister of Industry of Algeria, it was highlighted that both countries should establish a working mechanism to further enhance their bilateral cooperation in the Industry sector.

Minister Brahmi noted that Ethiopia and Algeria enjoy quite a robust political relation both at bilateral and multilateral levels but need to work further to improve economic relations for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.

Ambassador Nebiat, on his part, underscored that as both countries are signatories of the soon to be effective African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA), cooperation in Industrialization plays a key role in technology exchange and advancing intra-Africa trade.

In the discussion, they both agreed to establish and activate ministry to ministry consultation mechanism to speed up cooperation.

Ambassador Nebiat Getachew also briefed the Minister on the Ethiopian Federal Government law and order enforcement operation to end TPLF Impunity and bring perpetrators to justice.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, the Minister underscored the importance of peace and security for one’s development and added that it is a primary objective of governments to enforce it.
