Addis Ababa March 12, 2021(Walta) – A memorandum of understanding has been signed to generate 500 megawatts of solar energy.
The agreement was signed between Abu Dhabi Masdar and the Ethiopian government through the Ministry of Finance.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said the agreement shows Ethiopia’s efforts to strengthen the country’s private and public cooperation in terms of energy production and power generating capacity.
He also noted that a 500-megawatt solar power project will be launched in Ethiopia.
The Premier noted on his social media that “Ethiopia has a lot of experience in generating and distributing electricity from renewable energy”.
