Ethiopia, Pakistan Agree to Enhance Bilateral Relations

Addis Ababa, February 27, 2024(Addis Walta) Jemal Beker Abdula, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, was called on Additional Foreign Secretary (Africa) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Ambassador Shehryar Akbar Khan.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest including bilateral, regional, and multilateral cooperation between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

On the occasion, Ambassador Jemal Beker Abdula briefed Ambassador Shehryar Akbar Khan on the successful holding of the 37th African Union Summit that concluded over the last weekend in Addis Ababa with the esteemed presence of more than 49 heads of state and officials from African countries.

The two had an extensive discussion on a major role being played by the #FDR Ethiopia in promoting regional integration in the African continent through major initiatives like Ethiopia’s negotiations for access to sea as well as GERD.

Ambassador Shehryar Akbar Khan congratulated the Government of Ethiopia on the successful holding of the 37th African Union Summit.
