Addis Ababa, March 1, 2022 (Walta) – Ethiopia has taken over the Chairmanship of the Ministerial Forum on Harmonizing Labor Migration Policies in East and Horn of Africa from Kenya.
Labor and Skills Minister of Ethiopia, Muferihat Kamil had discussed with Cabinet Secretary for Labor and Social Protection of Kenya Simon Kiprono Chelugui on ways of enhancing governance of labor migration in the region.
Over the last two years, under the chairmanship of Kenya, the Ministerial Forum has registered remarkable results involving 11 member countries in the region, Mufrihat said.
Mufrihat expressed the commitment of Ethiopia to play its role in strengthening labor migration governance through regional common approaches during its two years tenure as chair of the forum.
