Addis Ababa, December 9, 2021 (Walta) – Protesters including Ethiopian-Americans and friends of Ethiopia gathered outside Kansas City Area Transportation Authority where President Joe Biden spoke Wednesday afternoon.
Kansas Citians with ties to Ethiopia and Ethiopian-Americans called on President Joe Biden to reassess his misguided policy on Ethiopia.
“We say, ‘No more.’ No more intervention. The hybrid war is won. They are intervening everything in our life there,” said Henok Tekeste, of Kansas City’s Ethiopian community.
The protesters denounced Biden’s administration for backing the terrorist TPLF Group and imposing sanctions on Ethiopia. They also called urged President Biden to reassess his misguided policy on Ethiopia and stop exiting the country from AGOA.
“We wanted to say, ‘No more,’ so we can have a liberated, selected, elected democratic state,” said Tsedenia Tesfaye, of the Ethiopian community.
According to KMBC, they’re upset with President Biden over his handling of the southern border, the exit in Afghanistan, and COVID-19 safety precautions.
