Addis Ababa, August 30, 2021 (Walta) – Ethiopians living in the cities of Birmingham and Coventry, United Kingdom hosted a fundraising event in support of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
Members of the Ethiopian Diaspora community who participated in the fundraising event reaffirmed unwavering commitment to GERD until the project is completed and goes operational.
Organizers of the event introduced new online platforms and apps i.e https://itismydam.et https://bit.ly/, ItsMyDam (Android), https://bit.ly/ItsMyDam-iOS (iOS) that would help easily fundraise for the construction of GERD.
Thanking the community for their ongoing support, Ambassador Teferi on his part called upon the Diaspora to stand together for Ethiopia’s principled stand over the Dam.
He further called upon the Diaspora to support the ongoing reform process in Ethiopia and work with the Embassy to strengthen diaspora engagement and uplift the country’s development efforts.
Those who gathered at the event expressed their determination and commitment to work with the Embassy to ensure Ethiopia’s development endeavors.
