Ethiopians in Canada Stage Rally to Protest Interference

Addis Ababa, March 11, 2021 (Walta) –Ethiopians living in Canada staged a rally to protest interference from foreign governments in Ethiopia’s internal affairs.

 

The demonstrations were held in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Kitchener, London Ontario, Edmonton, Lightbridge, and Calgary, according to Ethiopian Embassy in Canada.

 

They condemned the interference and campaign launched by some governments and media to mislead the international community and put pressure on Ethiopia following the law enforcement operation in Tigray.

 

The demonstrators chanted slogans against the US, British and French Security Council members, urging them to refrain from interfering in Ethiopia’s internal affairs, and wrote a letter urging to support the Ethiopian people.

 

They also thanked the Chinese, Russian and Indian embassies for their loyalty to the Ethiopian people and,  for their cooperation in non-interference in Ethiopia’s internal affairs.

 

The demonstrators denounced the massacre committed by the TPLF group as well as expressed their support for the on-going measures by the government to bring perpetrators to justice.
