Ethiopia’s Campaign to Beat Pollution Officially Launches

Addis Ababa, March 29, 2024(Addis Walta) Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh has initiated a six-month nationwide movement for environmental protection. The movement is guided by the theme “No More Pollution, Stimulating Beauty”.

Regional chief administrators, heads of regional environmental protection offices, and representatives of international organizations attended the program.

During the program, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen highlighted Ethiopia’s enormous efforts in environmental protection, including the Green Legacy Initiative to develop clean and beautiful cities and promote riverside development.

The nationwide environmental protection movement launched today aims to prevent environmental pollution and strengthen the nation’s environmental protection efforts. The movement aims to create a beautiful and convenient city by ensuring proper garbage disposal.

In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need for another nationwide movement to prevent noise pollution. He also stressed the importance of community involvement in reducing air, water, soil, and noise pollution.
