Addis Ababa, February 16, 2022 (Walta) – The European Union (EU) announced that it is strengthening its partnership with the Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council (ECSOC).
The staff of the EU Delegation attended the launching of the SUCCESS project in support of the Ethiopian CSO Council (ECSOC).
The EU is currently supporting ECSOC to become an independent representative body of the CSOs in Ethiopia.
The EU is also funding the third phase of the Civil Society Fund CSF III, which is running since 2006 and currently benefiting 69 CSOs in Ethiopia.
The staff of the EU Delegation met CSF III grantees in person and discussed in detail the implementation of the EU-funded projects in the country.
The proactive, credible, and vibrant Civil Society sector is the key for enhancing the development and democratization process in every country, the EU said.
