GBHHC to Open its Headquarters in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, November 16, 2023 (Addis Walta) The Global Black Heritage History and Education Centre (GBHHC) is to open its headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on December 8, 2023.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign of Ethiopia, Ambassador Meles Alem, in his biweekly press briefing, stated that GBHHC’s decision to open its headquarters in Ethiopia is a recognition of the country’s vibrant history in Pan-African movements.

GBHHC’s decision creates a great opportunity to bolster the city’s status as a tourism sector, and diplomatic hub and reassert Ethiopia’s position as the home of black people.

GBHHC consists of African and Caribbean blacks from all over the world and works for black people.

Ethiopia being the origin of mankind, and its enormous contribution to the freedom of the black people, has led to the opening of the center in Addis Ababa, the ambassador noted.

In April 2023, the GBHHC delegation paid a 10-day working visit in Ethiopia and conferred with high-level government officials, according to MFA of Ethiopia.
