Addis Ababa, March 16, 2022 (Walta) – Officials of the Water and Energy Ministry, representatives of the International Solar Alliance, and various stakeholders are deliberating on ways of expanding solar parks in Ethiopia.
Addressing participants, the Water and Energy State Minister, Sultan Woli said Ethiopia has been implementing a national electrification program to avail electric access to all citizens in 2030 despite several challenges.
As a member of the International Solar Alliance, Ethiopia is working hard to improve the livelihoods of the people with enhanced electric access, he said, appreciating members of the alliance and other partners in supporting its efforts to this end.
The meeting is discussing the way forward for scaling solar parks and solar water pumps for irrigation and other agricultural development endeavors in the country.
