Addis Ababa, February 16, 2022 (Walta) – Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dina Mufti said the draft bill entitled H.R. 6600 (Ethiopia Stabilization, Peace, and Democracy Act) threatens to regress the peace initiatives that the government of Ethiopia has been undertaking so far.
Ambassador Dina underscored that the bill calls for the imposition of sanctions and unwarranted measures against the people and government of Ethiopia undermining all the positive steps taken to ensure peace in the country.
Saying that the draft bill negatively affects Ethiopia in several aspects, the Spokesperson called on all to stand with Ethiopia by rejecting the bill co-sponsored by Congressman Tom Malinowski against the interests of Ethiopians.
