Addis Ababa, May 9, 2024 (Addis Walta) The Niin Lee Palm Spring Lodge construction demonstrates that Ethiopia can achieve its sustainable development goals by strengthening peace and security, according to the Head of the Afar region, Awal Arba.
The President said that the project is progressing well under the close supervision of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
He mentioned that the project will involve developing a palm farm with immense tourism potential. The area is surrounded by lush greenery and boasts a beautiful natural lake and hot water springs.
He further emphasized that the project will also offer educational opportunities to help transform the untapped potential of the area into a thriving tourism destination.
Upon completion, the President stated that the Nile Palm Spring Lodge project would usher in a new era of development for tourism and agriculture, benefiting the surrounding community.
The president also said that the lodge is being constructed with special attention to hosting international guests based on experience gained from national and international projects.
According to the president the Niin Palm Spring Lodge project’s proximity to Awash National Park and Waterfall will offer tourists a comfortable stay and create job opportunities for citizens.
It is to be recalled that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed laid the cornerstone for the Niin Lee Palm Spring Lodge project in the Afar Region on October 27, 2023.
This project is one of the seven tourism destinations to be built through the third Dine for Generation Initiative by the premier.
