PM Abiy Ahimed, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan Agree to Peacefully Resolve Outstanding Issues

Addis Ababa, July 5, 2022 (Walta) – Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed and Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan agree to peacefully Resolve Outstanding Issues.

Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, has met with the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, at the sidelines of the IGAD meeting taking place in Nairobi Kenya today.

According to information obtained from the Prime Minister’s Office, the PM met with Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, to discuss current regional and bilateral issues.

The Ethiopian government and Sudanese Government have been at odds following a skirmish at the Ethiopian and Sudan border recently.

“In my discussions with Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, we have both agreed that our two countries have plenty of collaborative elements to work on peacefully. Our common bonds surpass any divisions. We both made a commitment for dialogue and peaceful resolution to outstanding issues,” said the PM in a tweet.

This is the first time the two leaders met face to face to discuss the regional and bilateral issues following the recent development.
