Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and President Uhuru Kenyatta inaugurated the 500 kilometres Hawassa-Hagere Mariam-Moyale road project and One-stop Border Post in Marsabit County.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed during the occasion said that the inauguration of the road will ensure social and economic benefits of the two countries at large.
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta also said that the road will play a vital role on the countries bilateral relations.
President Kenyatta reaffirmed its commitment in order to strengthen trade and investment ties between the two countries.
Apart from trade and investment cooperation, the two leaders vow to work together to maintain peace and security in the region.
The construction of the road by the Ethiopian side has consumed 6.3 billion birr that was supported by African Development Bank. According to sources, Ethiopia and Kenya have established bilateral relations in 1954.
