Tigray Administration CEO Dismisses Reports of Int’l Media as Unprofessional

Addis Ababa, March 11, 2021 (Walta) – Tigray Provisional Administration Chief Executive Officer Dr.Mulu Nega noted that some reports of the international media about Tigray are unprofessional as they lack journalistic expertise.

Briefing local and international journalists in Mekelle today, the CEO said enormous progress has been achieved in rehabilitating and reconstructing the region despite attempts by the TPLF clique to disrupt peace in different places.

He added that the federal government, in collaboration with the international community, has been working to restore peace and stability in the region and get out of the current mess created  by the TPLF junta.

Ignoring this reality on the ground, the international media reports stories that lack balance and objectivity, Mulu stated, adding that echoing exaggerated and sensational information of anti-peace elements is wrong.

Portraying the reality on the ground is crucial, he pointed out.

The CEO called on the international media to consider and comprehend the complexity of the situation and take the full picture on the ground.

Regarding allegations about human right violations, Mulu said a committee has been established to undertake investigation.

The government has been intensifying its efforts to fully bring about normalcy in the region, according to Mulu.

Regional administrations have also been making financial, equipment and other material supports to reinforce the capacity of the interim administration and effectively deliver public services.
