TPLF Disrupts More Than 170 Aid Trucks

Addis Ababa, July 28, 2021(Walta) – Ethiopian Minister of Transport, Dagmawit Moges, announced that TPLF ruminants has disturbed the transport more than 170 aid trucks to Tigray.

World Food Program (WFP) Director-General David Bezley, said today food aid in Tigray will end next Friday.

According to the director, up to 100 vehicles are needed to reach the region every single day in order to meet the humanitarian challenge there.

He said 170 food trucks that stopped in Afar could not be able to travel to Tigray.

After the unilateral ceasefire by the federal government of Ethiopia,  grain to feed more than four million beneficiaries, medicine and fuel has been left in store houses through out the region and fuel depots.

The Government’s unilateral ceasefire aimed at enabling humanitarian assistance to reach the general public with out disruption, create favorable for farming community. However, following the terrorist act of the  Tigray Peoples’ Liberation Front ( TPLF’s) attack on Amhara Afara Regional States, the aid delivers has been hampered.

TPLF has been designated as a terrorist group by the Ethiopian House of Peoples Representatives following what TPLF called pre-emptive attack on Ethiopian Defense Force Northern Command.

It has been terrorizing people living along the Tigray region in Amhara and Afar regional states after the federal government declared unilateral ceasefire.
