Ethiopia bags 977 mln USD from oil seeds, pulses export

Addis Ababa, 03 August, 2016(WIC) The Ministry of Trade said that Ethiopia has earned about 977 million dollars during last budget year.

Cereal crops marketing Directorate Director of the Ministry, Mulugeta Muhammed, told WIC that the country has exported more than 800 thousand tons of pulses and oil seeds to get the stated amount of income.

More than 400 thousand tons of oil seed is exported to generate about 472 million USD in the stated period.

More than 375 thousand tons of pulses were exported to generate more than 232 million USD, He added.

As compared to the previous year, the country has generated better amount of income from these products.

Various administrative and managerial efficiencies have contributed for the boost in the amount of exports, Walta learnt.
