House endorses 320.8 bln birr for 2010 E.C

The house of People’s Representatives has endorsed 320.8 billion birr for the coming budget year today.

The draft budget proposal was discussed since yesterday and is endorsed with full vote today.

 More than 61.8 percent of the budget is to be used in education, road construction, agriculture, water and natural resource development, health and rural electrification.

About 114.8 billion birr is allocated for capital bidget and 81.8 billion birr is to be channeled for the regular budget, 7 billion birr for sustainable development goals and 117.3 billion for regions in need of special support.

The country’s budget has shown 16.9 percent increase as compared to the one ratified last year.
