Speaker of HF urges Diaspora to invest at home

Addis Ababa, 19 September 2014 (WIC) – The speaker of the House of Federation Kassa Teklebirhan urged Ethiopian Diaspora in Canada to use the golden opportunity at home in taking part in the country’s investment.

While meeting the Ethiopian Community residing in Canada, speaker of the House emphasized the prosperity of an enduring stability and peace at home generating a conducive atmosphere to investors inflowing to Ethiopia from every corner of the world.

He added that Ethiopian Diaspora in Canada should use this golden opportunity to play their roles in their country’s socio-economic development.

He also emphasized that the country has register a double digit economic growth almost for the past decade, which  attracted a number of international investors to Ethiopia.

As the country has huge hydro-power and promising geothermal energy resources,  electricity is relatively cheap in Ethiopia, he added.

 

The Speaker also displayed  that the main industrial towns are already connected to the national grid.

Ethiopian Ambassador to Canada, Birtukan Ayano, on her behalf  said tens of thousands of students  have been graduating from Ethiopian Universities every year.

According to the Ambassador the availability of cheap skilled manpower is another added value to investors investing in Ethiopia.
