AU Urges UN to correct the historical injustice of excluding Africa from permanent seats

Addis Ababa, 28 July,2015 (WIC)- Chair person of the African Union Commission Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma  urged  UN to correct the historical injustice over excluding Africa from having permanent membership in the security council.

 

While  delivery  a speech in the presence of President Barack Obama, Dr Nkosazana Zuma said Africa was not represented permanently in the UN Security Council that the African Union asked all members to support Security Council in correcting the mistakes done by the UN.

 

Africa and USA have a long historic bond starting  from the period of slavery  back in the 15th century, the political and economic significance of Africa to the world is increasing from time to time.

 

Africa has also challenged by the global threats of terrorism that could hamper its efforts to economic progress, she said.

 

Africa has been exerting  its best  to curb the expansion  of Al–Qaida linked  Al–shabab and Boko-Haram and exerting efforts to find  a solution  on the conflict and crisis of Somalia and the South Sudan, she under score.
