Ethiopia, Kenya agree to cooperate on security

Addis Ababa, 11 August 2015 (WIC) – Ethiopia and Kenya signed agreement that enable them to work together on security issues.

Ethio – Kenya joint military committee technical experts discussed on ways of improving bilateral ties of the two nations, especially on the peace and security of the region.

Ethiopian Minister of Defense Siraj Fagessa on the occasion said in order to further enhance the trade between the two countries, the border of the two countries should be secured.

The minister also said the two countries are working together for the stability of the region and they should further strengthen the war against Al- Shabab.

The two countries also agreed to curb illegal human trafficking.

Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defence Forces General Samora Yunus on his part lauds the partnership of both nations. He also said, the terms of agreement should be implemented.

Kenyan Defense Forces General Samson Mwathethe said Kenya is committed to work for the implementation of the agreement. (EBC)
