SAP sets to engage in Ethiopia’s market

Addis Ababa, 11 August 2015 (WIC) – Germany’s Application and Products in Data Processing (SAP), one of the giant software companies in the world, said it seeks to expand its business in Ethiopia on August 7, 2015.

During an event held at Dessalegn Hotel to launch its Social Sabbatical Program with four Ethiopian organizations, the company’s representatives said Ethiopia possesses a “huge potential”.

Andrew Waititu, Managing Director of SAP for East Africa told The Reporter “I think this is a moment for us to be here and signal our interest to engage in business developments and partnership.”

He also emphasized Ethiopia’s strong economic situation and encouraged international companies to come here and involve in viable businesses. Moreover, he states the inception of SAP Sabbatical Program creates an opportunity to discover the market in Ethiopia.

SAP’s Social Sabbatical team arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia early last month and has been working with International Development Enterprises (IDE), Ethiopian Center for Disability Development (ECDD), Camera Education and Ahadoo Tec.

SAP was established in 1972 and its applications and services have enabled more than 291,000 customers to operate worldwide. (The Reporter)
