Death toll of Ethiopians in Hajj stampede reaches 47

Addis Ababa, October 8, 2015 (WIC) – The death toll of Ethiopians in Hajj stampede has reached to 47, according to the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council (EIASC).

Of the inured 26 Ethiopian pilgrims, 24 have left hospital. The remaining two are receiving treatment in Mena and Nur based hospitals, the Council said in a statement today.

The Council expressed its deepest condolences to families of the victims.

The Council recently announced the safe return of over 1,100 Ethiopian pilgrims from Hajj.

The stamped that occurred 2 weeks ago claimed the lives of more than 1,000 pilgrims. It also injured more than 800 people. (FBC)
