HoF Members express their readiness to stave off inter-regional issues

Addis Ababa, 09 October, 2015 (WIC) – Members of the House of Federation have expressed their readiness to solve inter-regional issues that are related to the boundaries and other shared interests between them.
The members who underscored the peace and security condition currently prevailing in the country said that this situation has in turn paved the way for a robust growth that the country is experiencing. They also said that the peace and security condition has enabled the public to reap the benefits of growth.

One of members of the house, who shared his view with WIC, is SHibiru Eshetu. Since the Ethiopian people have been benefiting from the peace and security condition of the country and the robust grow it entails, tensions arising from grazing land and boundary issues need to be addressed properly. He also noted incidents of such scenario are decreasing from time to time.

According to Shibiru, the infrastructure development taking place across regional states needs to be strengthened in the course of Growth and Transformation Plan II (GTP II). He also vowed to play his part in the effort to attain such a goal.

Another member of the house, Kiros Hagos, said that any act that might pose challenges on the constitutional order needs to be timely abated. “I will play my part in correcting such circumstances by identifying the root cause of such scenarios,” she remarked.

She said that at this critical juncture in the history of the country to fight lack of good governance and rent seeking behavior, people understanding about the basics of the constitutions needs to be enlightened. I will play my part in doing that down to the lowest administration structure of the government, she remarked.

Kuang Akuay, member of HoF, also shares the views of Kiros and Shibiru. He said that the present governmental system has enabled the country to respect the rights of nations, and nationalities in his region, Gambella, who were previously neglected.

Kuang said that the recent tension in the Majang Zone of the region is successfully contained. he expressed his readiness to solve occasional disputes on the boundary with Southern, Nation, Nationality, ands People regional state.

The members expressed their resolute to keep the constitutional order, keep the peace and tranquility of the country, and maintain the values that keep Nation, Nationality, ands Peoples intact, strengthen their unity, and keep the momentum of growth forward by cooperation between all the regional states.
