Celebrating Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day fosters developmental competition between regions- HF

Addis Ababa, 19 November 2015 (WIC)- The House of Federation(HF) said celebration of the Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day annually has created developmental competition between the regional states of the country.

Head of Office of the House of Federation, Debebe Barud, told WIC that the regions are competing in development through their endeavors to celebrate the day colorfully via different programs. Besides the day enables them to introduce their cultures to others, he noted.

He further said that the day enables to foster economic development and ensure guarantying the constitutional rights of people.

According to Debebe, efforts  are being unleashed in agriculture, education, road, green and clean environment developmental schemes to again show up  during the 10th Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day that is going be celebrated in Gambella region.

Traditional huts, a conference hall, football stadium and air port are being constructed in Gambella region to host the guests on day.

It was noted that the day is playing a significant role social interaction and paves ways to create one political and economical society in the countryat large.

The 10th Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day will be marked under the theme “Nations, Nationalities and People’s Participation for Further Growth and Transformation” on coming December 9, Walta learnt.
